Learning is not an option anymore 💭
Why you need to self-actualize and build a mindset worth full progress.
“Learning is too important to be left behind in the classroom. Learning to learn is a skill you can master.” Terry Sejnowski, Neuroscience Researcher.
In today´s world, learning is a must. Is not an option anymore. Many of us now, more than ever, need to be multidisciplinary minds.
We need the ability to learn, embrace, act, and grow at any given time. But, one thing is learning to truly learn, and the other is just learning what is supposed to be learned.
Learning is a process. And as with every other process, there are highs, lows, and middles.
But how we approach that process lets us have the desired results.
Discovering and developing the tools that will form our value and as a whole our judgment, our mind.
Learning to truly learn is the complete digestion of information and knowledge.
It is planting a seed and taking care of it.
Learning what is supposed to be learned is just accumulating knowledge. Without processing or applying it.
It is planting a seed and wishing it´ll grow when the time comes.
Learning to learn truly means discovering how to unlock your full potential for the right reasons.
It takes all that knowledge, information, and data:
Manipulates it, analyzes it, deconstruct it, elaborates connections, and discusses it.
Is learning the why´s, the how´s, and the core ideas of each piece of knowledge.
But now, there´s another question without an answer, if learning to truly learn is a skill we can develop, then why do we study?
Why do we attend college? Well, there´s no right or wrong answer to this question, there are just realities.
But here´s what is true about this practice...
By learning and experimenting we build our character.
We build a strong mindset, the pillar of our judgment.
We can differentiate our abilities, our interests, and our opportunities.
Studying is not just a matter of patience and discipline, it´s a matter of life-endurance training.
Sometimes the field in which our game is played isn´t the right one for us, and we need to push forward.
Embrace discomfort and continue learning and growing.
We are taught equally, yet the fact that we need to step out of our comfort zone is totally okay.
The key is to never surrender learning. To never surrender the idea of being perpetual learners.
It doesn´t only mean progress and capacity in our work lives. Learning in every step of our journey is choosing ultimately growth.
And therefore, its benefits: happiness, accomplishment, love, appreciation, expanded mind, and wisdom.
It´s a value with far more impact on our lives than we could imagine.
Learning can also bring a lot of benefits: creativity enhances once we adopt a learning mindset.
We pay attention to our inputs, to our outputs, and we start to deconstruct and construct new ideas, letting knowledge spread and making it a real tool.
Also, we let vulnerability in, and sometimes it can be hard to feel outpaced. To feel new to any concept, but we are willing to restart our knowledge in order to compound it in the end.
It´s a never-ending helping cycle.
There´s a famous quote by the author Victor Hugo, “Our mind enriches itself with what we receive, and our heart enriches itself with what we give.” — Victor Hugo.
And this makes learning such an indispensable ability and also a special gift.
It´s not only about developing one´s soul, mind, and wisdom but also about helping others develop their own.
If we learn to live by this thought, the changes and benefits might be endless.
“Learn as if you were not reaching your goal and as though you were scared of missing it.”― Confucius
Truly learning means two things:
Accept that the truth is always perfected, not reached.
For us to grow, we must learn from our falls and comebacks, from our perceptions and reality, we must take on.
Truly learning is not just an option, it´s now our only way of reaching and defining our own success.
⤴️ The Weekly Update
📚 Gallagher´s theory: The world is the outcome of what you pay attention to. It’s simple. So simple it can be easy to forget. Why is it hard to apply? Because we want “perfect” in our world, given the fact that such a thing is far from perfect. We train our minds; we shape our world. Be brave enough to act on this.
💡 The brilliant idea is the most spoiled one. This can make no sense at all without any explanation. The most brilliant idea originated through countless failures and trials.
So don´t feel bad about your thinking the next time you encounter a barrier, use this phrase instead!
🎙️ Why this generation feels so detached from a good living? First of all, the parameters to define good living have gone to the roof, while the parameters to define bad have slowly become absurd.
The sad story made short: young generations use their energy on countless things that validate their potential, but with solid repercussions for their future self: “If not now, then when?”.
