Why Most People Fail and Quit Their Projects and Dreams
- Letters to a friend. Collection I
To @aaronb_tv, a one-of-a-kind creator, defining the odds of what can be possible with content, branding, and a catchy style. Thanks for sharing such wisdom in every step made. Cheers friend.
Why are you letting others, your environment, the stories you see, and the wishes you pray for dictate the course your mind decides to take?
They said it would be hard. But you didn´t know what hard would feel like. In fact, no one knows.
We need to experience those harsh times for us to have that “AHA!” moment and realize sometimes things might just be upside down the whole time.
If your friends laugh about any idea you come up with for your future if your surroundings aren´t making it easy for you to stick to your goals and make up for that progress you wish you could have… You are probably in the right place.
Great things aren´t the most available option to look for outside.
They don´t sell “amazing lifestyles”, “freedom” or “growth & success” online.
Those are things we need to show up and put in the work for. They don´t come in handy to us.
And that´s okay. It´s also okay to look around for help, to look around and ask: Is this the way I should go? Is this the right direction I want to take?
It´s okay to shout your doubt to the world and feel what the hardcore level feels like in that moment of your life.
The key to the doors you´d want to open relies there: on the fact that you did get up.
You´ll open the doors that were made for you and that you put up the work for the dream of opening when you realize that you fail at not letting yourself mess up things a little bit.
Most people let go of everything they wanted because it simply wasn´t the “right” level of difficulty. Turn around and watch them say: “It´s not made for everyone”.
Of course, it´s not made for everyone.
It´s made for the ones who can work to obtain the key to the door they longed for.
The difficulty of your path is in fact defined by yourself. By your ability to overcome challenges.
And heck, you don´t even need to overcome them in the first place: you´ll get there soon.
You start by understanding them and adapting to their needs, to their harsh impulse of slowing you down.
This is the turning point for you: Are you ready to let go of your sense of difficulty? Will you accept to slow down if required but not quit?
Here´s a quick aid for you to get started:
Stick to the vision, not that plan
Create/start doing and putting in the work for the steps you need to take.
Choose and accept your reality
Process over results/outputs
Be willing to play for the long run, no worthy game is ever finished before the first half.
Choice is yours. And let me tell you, this question hasn´t the “right” level of difficulty. Shall you begin?
Thanks for reading the letter,
World of Words.
Becoming a creator, and building a personal brand and a business off the back of that, has truly opened my eyes to the incredible possibilities that we can squeeze out of this life.
If you compare working a 9-5 job (which I did for the previous 5 years), there is very limited opportunity to design your life the way you envision it.
You have a manager, specific codes of conduct to follow, working hours, location of work, etc. Now this isn’t to say you can design a fantastic life doing that.
My parents have, a lot of my friends have. But to me, the richest people aren’t those with the most money, but those with the most time & flexibility, which can come from building your own thing.
However, let’s not sugarcoat it… the road to doing that will be incredibly tough. It will take a lot of trial and error, grit & resilience…
But in my opinion worth every ounce of fear & doubt that you’ll go through because you now have control over what you do. So if you’re afraid to begin, ask yourself the question – “What is the worst-case scenario if it all fails”?
Probably nothing too drastic. Maybe you need to get another job or move back in with your parents.
But if it does work out…well holy sh*t. Life changing.
You are your systems. I truly believe this.
However, it took me well over 1.5 years to start implementing proper systems into my life & business.
Systems are what will allow you to get your work done, in the most efficient amount of time, and when you’re able to, allow you to scale & outsource.
Some of the systems I have in place include:
a. Content Creation (scripting, filming editing)
b. Newsletters (writing, building, launching)
c. Client management (onboarding, tracking, testimonials)
Anywhere in your life/business that you believe you can (in a way), automate, so you know what you need to do & when you need to do it…is crucial in building a sustainable business.
Because you will experience a hell of a lot of ups and downs, but having your systems will ensure that even on those days when you really don’t ‘feel’ like taking action…your system is in place so you can simply show up & follow the process & execute.
If you want to learn more about systems, I’d highly recommend following @matthgray on Instagram.
